Eden FM is the Southern Cape community radio station. The radio is a powerful medium for exposure and education to the local communities and all role-players within the area.

The station was started in 2003 as an Initiative by Community leaders
and business people in George, Oudtshoorn and Mosselbay. It soon grew to become the largest community radio station in the Western Cape Province.

Our Vision ...To establish a community radio station which will bridge the gaps between the people in the Southern Cape with programmes to empower, inform and educate through training and celebrating diversity which serves to enhance the quality of life by reconciling our people with the focus to integrate our society.

Our Mission ... To create a Radio station where the community can be Informed, Educated and Entertained. To be the voice of choice in the entire GARDEN ROUTE DISTRICT.

Radio has been proven to be the most consumed medium of exposure, above television, newspapers and even the Internet. It reaches citizens within the Municipal boundaries deprived of other means of Communication and media.

Conscientizing the community about Municipal functions and tools such as the Budget and IDP.

To positively re-image the municipality.

OUR AREA OF COVERAGE

The station covers an area of approximately 30 000 km2.
The research has proven the local regional community radio station, Eden FM, to be the largest in the Western Cape and also the 3rd largest in the country.

We broadcast in English, Afrikaans and in IsiXhosa.
More than 300 000 listeners.

46% of our listeners never turn their Radios away from Eden Fm.
Our listeners represent the largest cultural and language groups in the area- the voice of choice™.

Our listeners are in the LSM (Living Standard Measurements) between 5 and 10. – We serve the low, medium and high income listeners.
