A 31-year-old suspect will appear in the Grootbrak River Magistrate’s Court today on charges of possession of suspected stolen property.
He was arrested at a residence in Grootbrak River after he was found with Telkom cabling to the estimated value of R25 000.00.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie says the bust was made during an intelligence-driven operation in collaboration between Mossel Bay Crime Intelligence, Langeberg K-9 Unit, Public Order Police and local detectives.
"Garden Route District Commissioner, Major General Norman Modishana has praised the members involved in the bust for their commitment to act swiftly against those that threatens the safety and livelihood of vulnerable rural communities through the theft and destruction of essential telecommunication and electrical infrastructure".
